🕊️ Let Nothing Frighten You

TWO-MINUTE MONK
Ancient wisdom for modern life, every Monday.

🧘 Monk Thought

“Let nothing disturb you,
let nothing frighten you.
All things are passing away:
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things.”

Teresa of Ávila

💡 Monk Light

Teresa wrote this not from comfort but from trial—illness, opposition, exhaustion.

Still she insists: do not be shaken.

Disturbance and fear are rooted in the belief that the ground beneath us can vanish.

But Teresa reminds us: what matters endures.

The storms are real, but so is the stillness beyond them.

Patience is not waiting passively.

It is holding steady while the noise passes through.

Teresa of Ávila (1515–1582) was a Spanish Carmelite nun, mystic and reformer. Her writings on prayer, silence and the soul’s journey remain some of the most luminous in Christian mysticism.

👣 Monk Move

Today, when fear or disturbance comes, pause.

Say softly:

“Let nothing disturb me. Let nothing frighten me.”

And let patience be your anchor.
