TWO-MINUTE MONK
Ancient wisdom for modern life, every Monday.
🧘 Monk Thought
“Do not look for happiness outside yourself.
The awakened seek it not in distant lands but within themselves.”
— Helena Blavatsky (1831–1891)
💡 Monk Light
Blavatsky wrote this in the 19th century—but it could have been written this morning.
We still look outward:
A new place
A new plan
A new version of ourselves
We imagine peace is elsewhere, just around the next corner.
But what if the search is the distraction?
What if joy arrives the moment we stop reaching and start resting?
The awakened don’t travel far.
They return inward, again and again, to the one place nothing can take from them.
Helena Blavatsky was a 19th-century Russian mystic and spiritual philosopher.
👣 Monk Move
Today, before scrolling, buying, planning or fixing—pause.
Whisper:
“Not in distant lands.”
Then take one breath. That’s the door.
🔐 The Monk Vault is now open.
You can find all the previous posts by the Two-Minute Monk in the Vault. The weekly post from the Monk will always be free but at some point in the future, I will create a small subscription of no more than £2 per month to access the Vault to see previous posts and get extra material. For now, though, the Vault remains open and free. Enjoy!
