TWO-MINUTE MONK
Ancient wisdom for modern life, every Monday.
🧘 Monk Thought
“The cat does not run after contentment.
It stretches into it.”
— Zen saying (anonymous)
💡 Monk Light
Watch a cat for a while.
It doesn’t rush toward anything.
It moves when it must, rests when it can, and seems entirely at ease in its own skin.
Humans complicate peace.
We chase it through goals, screens, and plans.
The cat simply returns—again and again—to what is already comfortable, already enough.
Stillness isn’t something you find.
It’s something you remember.
👣 Monk Move
Today, take a lesson from the cat.
Stop for a moment, stretch, breathe once, and let the body settle.
Say softly:
“I don’t need to chase calm. I can stretch into it.”
And for that moment, purr inside your own stillness.
🔐 The Monk Vault is now open.
You can find all the previous posts by the Two-Minute Monk in the Vault. The weekly post from the Monk will always be free but at some point in the future, I will create a small subscription of no more than £2 per month to access the Vault to see previous posts and get extra material. For now, though, the Vault remains open and free. Enjoy!
