🕊️ The circle we forgot

TWO-MINUTE MONK
Ancient wisdom for modern life, every Monday.

🧘 Monk Thought

“Everything the Power of the World does is done in a circle.
The sky is round, and so are the stars.
The wind in its greatest power whirls. Birds make their nests in circles,
for theirs is the same religion as ours.”

Black Elk, Oglala Lakota spiritual leader

💡 Monk Light

The modern world is obsessed with lines: deadlines, finish lines, straight paths forward.

But Black Elk reminds us: nature moves in circles. So does life.

We rise, we fall.

We begin, we return.

Healing doesn’t go in a straight line — it loops, it spirals.

To forget this is to fight reality.

To remember it is to find rhythm again.

You don’t have to feel constrained.

You just have to return to the circle.

Black Elk (1863–1950) was a revered Lakota holy man, shaman and visionary.

👣 Monk Move

Today, step outside.

Notice one thing that moves in a circle.

The sun. A wheel. A breath.

Whisper: “I’m part of this, too.”
