🕊️ Calm, not fire

🧘 Monk Thought

“Speak such words that your own soul feels peace.
Speak only what brings calm, not fire.”

Sant Kabir Ji

💡 Monk Light

Words have weight. They leave echoes long after the moment has passed.

Kabir doesn’t just ask you to speak kindly to others. He’s asking something more radical: speak in a way that gives you peace.

That rules out:

Winning the argument

Saying the “clever” thing

Making your point louder than theirs

It invites:

Silence when you’re stirred

Gentleness when you’re right

Truth without the edge

Next time you open your mouth, ask: Will these words bring me peace? Or regret?

Sant Kabir was a 15th-century Indian mystic poet and spiritual teacher whose simple, piercing verses challenged religious divisions and urged seekers to look inward for truth.

👣 Monk Move

Before speaking today, pause for just one breath.

Then ask:

“Is this calm, or is this fire?”

Choose calm.
