🕊️ The Still Pond
TWO-MINUTE MONK
Ancient wisdom for modern life, every Monday.
🧘 Monk Thought
“The still pond reflects the moon.”
— Malay proverb, common across Singapore and the Malay Archipelago
💡 Monk Light
Singapore moves fast — trains, markets, conversations, ambitions.
But even here, the wisdom holds: the moon is only seen clearly in still water.
When our minds ripple with hurry or comparison, we distort what’s real.
When we grow still, even for a breath, life reflects itself perfectly — bright, whole, untouched.
You don’t need to escape the city to find peace.
You only need to find stillness within it.
👣 Monk Move
Today, wherever you are — lift your gaze for a moment.
Find one patch of calm: the pause between footsteps, the hush in a train, a cup cooling in your hand.
Say softly:
“The still pond reflects the moon.”
And let the noise settle.
🔐 The Monk Vault is now open.
You can find all the previous posts by the Two-Minute Monk in the Vault. The weekly post from the Monk will always be free but at some point in the future, I will create a small subscription of no more than £2 per month to access the Vault to see previous posts and get extra material. For now, though, the Vault remains open and free. Enjoy!
